An accounting company has an exciting career opportunity for a junior bookkeeper who will be reporting directly to the Director. The firm has been providing accounting, assurance, and creative tax strategies to individuals, corporations and entrepreneurs for more than four decades. The company is seeking an experienced, detail oriented, high energy individual who will be focused on meeting the needs of the firm and its clients.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: starting from $16 hourly

Responsibilities:


  • Perform a variety of administrative support for multiple staff ensuring timely adherence and deadlines
  • Supporting professional staff with preparation of financial statements package and letters to the government
  • Supporting professional staff with internal request for files, information, communicating with client, etc.
  • Uphold electronic and paper filing systems
  • Managing personal tax season by completing various administrative tasks
  • Updating workflow program on time and ensuring smooth process
  • Communicate in a professional manner with clients and internal staff via email, phone and in person
  • Perform basic bookkeeping tasks such as preparing invoices, processing payments from clients and bank deposits
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

  • Completion of related post-secondary education in office administration or accounting is required
  • Related experience required; public accounting firm experience is an asset
  • Strong communication skills – ability to expresses ideas and convey information in business writing, conversations and interactions with others
  • Exceptional client service skills - understand the importance of quality client service by being courteous, responding to client requests in a timely manner and monitoring satisfaction
  • Motivated team player - working collaboratively with team members in order to achieve a common goal, developing and maintaining effective work relationships
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Effectively manage multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, high volume environment
